About us

The Period Place is the largest menstrual justice charity in Aotearoa, working towards period equity.

We do this through advocacy, outreach, education, promotion and our nationwide period product donation programme.

The Period Place is uniquely suited in Aotearoa to carry out our mahi under our three foundational pillars: conversation, education and access.

Through our nationwide Impact Partner Programme, we get period products to the most vulnerable members of our society. Find out more about it here.

Our mission

Provide menstrual health resources to empower individuals and whānau.

Our vision

Intergenerational period equity for Aotearoa.

Our Core Pillars

  • We reduce stigma by engaging government, organisations, and communities to address the complexities of period inequity

We empower and resource our Impact Partners to have conversations about periods

We create safe spaces digitally and physically for open, stigma-free conversations about periods

  • We advocate for period education to be available to everyone, whether they get a period or not

We co-design accessible period education with communities and provide education for people to learn about periods to make informed choices

We provide ways for people to consume the education in ways that make sense to them

  • We advocate for equitable access to period education and period products by working in partnership with government, organisations, and communities

We work alongside our Impact Partners to get period products to those that need them

We provide a range of period products so people can choose how to manage their period

Better together

We’re bloody passionate about what we do and we’re bloody great at doing it well.

But we can’t do it alone.

Your support increases our impact further around Aotearoa and helps us bulk order more products at discounted and wholesale prices from our partners, ensuring a more efficient use of resources.

With your support we can get more period products to more people, it’s that time.
